THE BURGER ADVENTURE: MEET BURGER

I know I said I'd stick to London burger joints only, but I couldn't resist...
So my friend told me about this place in Loughborough, Meet Burger and naturally we had to check it out. I hadn't heard anything about Meet Burger before my friend mentioned it - shows how good Word of Mouth can be eh? It's owned by the same people as Peter's, blog post for Peter's coming soon...

Firstly, how cool are these menus?! They're printed on old school video cases. We were all feeling slightly nostalgic. The interior is pretty funky. I'm talking a giant Jurassic Park mural on the wall, a stolen BlockBuster sign and a wall full of pastel coloured Coca Cola bottles. Mental right?

Oh and I did I mention a ketchup gun?

Down to the grub.

As you previously saw, the menu is quite small. There's 5 different burgers, extra toppings, 3 sides and a couple starters. They do have a good selection of 8 different sauces.

They're served on old records. They really have thought of everything.

I chose the 'Meat Tina' - hereford beef, green chillies, chilli sauce and american cheese. And obviously a side of sweet potato fries to dunk into my Coca Cola BBQ sauce.
Super juicy and smothered in sauce. I would have liked a few more chillies but I can't complain. I do wish they asked how you'd like the patty cooked, as I prefer mine medium rare but perhaps they aren't allowed to serve pink burgers, who knows? Sweet potato fries were delicious.

p.s. bonus points for anyone who can guess what movie my T-shirt is from.

To top the whole experience off, they brought us complementary prosecco.

VERDICT:

Queue: 6 of us went on a Friday night at 7pm, and there was no queue. Maybe many people don't know about it yet as it's only just opened, so I can imagine as it gets popular the queues will grow.
Price: For a burger, side, drink and sauces it was about £12. Bargain. Although the prosecco was free.
Ambience: Inside is awesome, it's quite small and intimate. You can see the chefs cooking away, which I love.

A good one for hungry, malnourished uni students.
