Rollin' with ma homies, eating pizzas the size of the sun.
A while ago my friend Naomi introduced me to Homeslice which is situated in Neal's Yard, Covent Garden. Since then I have visited four times and can guarantee I will be swinging by again.
It's a great place for an informal, no nonsense dinner. No cutlery, no table menus, just paper plates, gigantic pizzas, carafes of wine and delightfully full bellies.
It's £4 a slice or £20 for a 20" pizza.
We went for the whole pizza (obviously)
Half - Salami, rocket and parmesan
Half - Pulled pork, radish and mint pesto
These photos really don't do justice to the monstrous size of the pizzas.
The pulled pork was tender and the radishes gave a sharp contrast to the mint pesto which was oh so flavoursome. The salami, parmesan and rocket is one of my favourites - works so well together, a real crowd pleaser.
£20 for all that food? Bargain.
Perhaps not the best place for a date, it can get quite messy. Or maybe this is the perfect place? If your date looks good with pizza round his mouth then he's a keeper!
Love the overall vibe of "It's all about the pizza", no fancy cutlery or décor - just good food.
My only criticism: I once had a butternut squash base as oppose to a tomato base, so wish they still served that option...
