Something fun to do this Winter that won't break the bank.
Ever been in the mood to sit inside a massive freezer, drinking shots on a throne made out of ice? Great, I know the perfect place for you. The Eis Haus has recently opened at Tower Bridge next door to the ice rink. It's a portable pop-up ice bar and lounge where everything is made entirely of ice. They have these incredible hand-carved sculptures and yes you guessed it, a giant throne. The bar offers a range of spirits and non-alcoholic drinks to keep you warm. But make sure you bring gloves as even the glasses are made out of ice. It's around -5 inside, and although they give you a huge cosy coat I'd make sure you're wearing lots of layers. Grab some of their blankets and cheers to Christmas!
Once your fingers and toes have had enough, hop out into the warm and grab yourself a hot chocolate. You can watch the skaters tumble past or sit in the cable car photobooth for some snaps. The Eis Haus is next moving to Chiswick, so if you miss it now don't worry there's still time to enjoy a chilled (ha ha) evening.
*Eis Haus very kindly invited me along free of charge.
Queue: We visited on a Friday night and walked straight in. I would book to advoid disappointment but it's a hidden gem no one knows about yet..
Price: It is £12.50 to enter the Eis Haus which includes a free vodka shot and I think an adult ticket for skating is £13.50, still cheaper than Somerset House.
Ambience: So much fun, grab a bunch of mates and head down. Something a bit different to enjoy this Winter.
